Australian Capital Tourism hosts a number of international and national trade familiarisations (famils) showcasing the variety of experiences on offer to an influential audience for facilitating the distribution of tourism product from the Canberra region. Those hosted on the international trade famils include Inbound Tour Operators (ITO), travel agents other retailers and wholesalers. The national trade famils are primarily conducted with wholesalers who distribute tourism products throughout Australia.
Feedback from previous famils show that they are one of the best ways in educating agents about Canberra and the region as they get to experience the destination first hand. This develops greater product knowledge as well as helping to assist agents in selling the destination more confidently to their clients.
